Cheryl Fulcher

President

I’ve been a member of BBWN for more than six years now and feel being a part of this group provides an excellent opportunity to meet other women with a passion for their chosen roles in the business community.

I began my career at 17 as a Trainee Accountant, working fulltime and studying externally to obtain a Bachelor of Business degree. I was a partner and director of sugar cane growing and harvesting businesses for many years until their sale. It was the sugar industry experience that took us overseas to Jamaica for 3 years. Returning to Australia in 2003, I resumed employment as a tax accountant, and decided to return to the books and achieved CPA status in 2013.

After almost 35 years in the accounting field, it was time for a career change, and in May 2011, I joined Auswide Bank (formerly Wide Bay Australia) as a Senior Auditor. I am currently a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Australia) and have almost completed a Graduate Certificate in Internal Audit.
