Don’t Call Me Busy!
As women in this room, we wear several hats: professional, leader, advocate, volunteer, parent, carer, friend….
Somewhere along the way, “busy” became the word used to describe us.
In this engaging and reflective session, Jo Leveritt unpacks the hidden implications of that single word. While “busy” may appear harmless (even complimentary) it often signals something unintended: overwhelm, lack of control, scattered focus or unavailability. In leadership and professional contexts, language shapes perception and perception influences opportunity.
Drawing on her experience as a lawyer and social justice advocate, Jo explores the power of language in positioning, persuasion and leadership. She invites the audience to consider not only how others describe them, but the words they allow to define them.
If you’re ready to accelerate your impact now and be deliberate about the words that position you for opportunity, then this is for you.
